Anonymous reports allow us to get an understanding of the prevalence of issues within our community. We use anonymous reports to identify broad trends or patterns of behaviour which can be addressed, for example, identifying training needs in a particular area.

The reporting system is truly anonymous, so we do not receive any details about who has submitted an anonymous report. Therefore, it is important to understand that if you choose this option, we will not be able to contact you to offer you advice or support

We will also be limited in terms of the action we can take, even if you include identifying details of the incident or person involved and will be unable to launch a formal investigation as a result of an anonymous report.  '

Remember that the "Report with contact details" option does not automatically initiate a formal complaints process* but allows us to provide you with appropriate support and information on your options. All reports are treated in the strictest confidence.

When you submit an anonymous report, you can opt-in to our anonymous messaging service so that you can ask us any questions you may have. For more information on the service, click HERE, and for information on how to use the service, click HERE.

*There are certain circumstances in which we may need to investigate or make an external report without the consent of the person making a report; more details can be found HERE.
